Following the successful launch of the new sexual health website for Leeds NHS, Yorkshire MESMAC asked us to update their brand and online experience.

Discover and define

The senior management team at MESMAC had already built up a strong picture of their target audience and stakeholders. We ran workshops with them to delve deeper into their user groups to identify individual user stories, key features and to understand what creative approaches might be appropriate.

We also spent time with key workers to really understand how a new, online HIV booking system could work in practice. Using the outcomes of the discovery workshops we were able to create detailed wireframes, mapped against user stories and key features, prior to embarking on the creative process.

Design and build

Building on their existing brand identity we took an illustrative approach, producing a range of characters to help create a friendly and welcoming feel, which was further enhanced by specially commissioned photography. The easy-to-navigate, clearly designed website ensures a great user experience across all devices. Meanwhile, the new HIV booking system gives users a much easier and more discreet way to book appointments online.
